Steps to Configure NIC eMail account as POP in Outlook
Note
IMAP/POP feature is not available for your account. To enable it, please reach out to your Delegated/Department Administrator.
- Log in to your https://mail.gov.in/ account to enable POP access. (Login to https://mail.gov.in/ >> Settings >> Mail Accounts >> POP >> Enable POP Access by clicking the checkbox).
- Launch the Microsoft Outlook application in your system.
- Enter your NIC eMail address.
- Select Advanced Setup.
- Select POP3.
- Enter your NIC eMail password (Use Application-specific Password if Two-Factor Authentication is enabled for your account).
- Toggle Show more.
- Verify the auto-filled incoming server details.
Incoming Server Information:
POP Username : Your NIC eMail address.
POP password: Your NIC eMail password (Use Application-specific Password if Two-Factor Authentication is enabled for your account).
POP Incoming Server: pop.mgovcloud.in
Port:995
Secure Connection Type: SSL - Scroll down and verify the auto-filled outgoing server details.
Outgoing Server Information:
SMTP Username : Your NIC eMail address.
SMTP password: Your NIC eMail password (Use Application-specific Password if Two-Factor Authentication is enabled for your account).
SMTP Outgoing Server: smtp.mgovcloud.in
Port:465
Secure Connection Type: SSL - Click Continue.
- Click Continue to sync your POP account.
- Click Next accepting the privacy statement.
- Click Accept to send diagnostic data.
- Now POP is successfully configured and you will be able to access your NIC eMail account on Outlook for Windows.
Note
If you're using SAML Authentication for your organization, you need to generate an Application Specific Password to authenticate email clients to access NIC eMail using IMAP/POP.
